Silicone therapy is the recommended first line therapy by doctors and surgeons for hypertrophic and keloid scars.

Tape: Clean skin and pat dry. Peel the silicone scar tape off the protective plastic liner. Save the liner for later use.Place the sticky side of the tape directly onto the scar. When showering place scar tape back onto plastic liner.

Gel: Use twice a day (Morning and Night). Ensure the area in clean and dry. Apply a thin layer of the scar gel and allow to dry. It is most effective when a thin layer is applied over the scar, remove excess. Use for a minimum of 3-6 months or until your stop seeing an improvement. 

Do not apply silicone scar tape or scar gel to open wounds

Do not wear silicone tape when playing sport and are likely to get hot – you may develop a rash.
